So a year ago today I became a self published author! A huge, huge thank you to each of you for your support over the last year. It has been priceless! If you still haven’t had the chance, A Hole in Serenity is available on amazon, kobo and ibooks on most platforms worldwide for a very small price indeed! Enjoy!
Onwards and upwards in hope of dropping the ‘self’ label!! #DCIMorgan
Have a great weekend all!
It is true what Mr Willy Wonka said… ‘There is no place I know to compare with pure imagination’… The mind is one powerful tool that can be used in so many ways.
My example is the obvious. A story can take a new direction whenever I change its path. I can bring in a character or take one out at the drop of a hat. I can create paradise and make it even better.
Each and every one of us can go to a place where we call the shots. If it can improve someone’s state of mind then it can’t be a bad thing surely?
Let your mind take you to a different place today. A place that you’ve created and that no other mind would be able to mimic. It’s yours. Create it, change it and then enjoy it!
Thank you as always to you all for your continued support. You, my faithful, are by no means made up. You are very real and the support I have felt from you all is also very real so thank you.
On this mild, sunny Sunday afternoon I sat indoors away from the rays that poured eagerly through my patio doors. I sat immersed in the world of The Great Gatsby. Totally absorbed by Leo Di Caprio but even more so by the words of F. Scott Fitzgerald. I thought I would share a few of those creative wonders with you now.
“His heart beat faster and faster as Daisy’s white face came up to his own. He knew that when he kissed this girl, and forever wed his unutterable visions to her perishable breath, his mind would never romp again like the mind of God. So he waited, listening for a moment longer to the tuning fork that had been struck upon a star. Then he kissed her. At his lips’ touch she blossomed like a flower and the incarnation was complete.”
“I was within and without, simultaneously enchanted and repelled by the inexhaustible variety of life”
“You see I usually find myself among strangers because I drift here and there trying to forget the sad things that happened to me.”
“Can’t repeat the past? Why of course you can!”
Happy Thursday my faithful!
As this steam train begins to increase its momentum, its ALL CHANGE! I thought I would bring you an update of where I am at so far with the first in a new series.
Firstly, it’s a change in branding which you may have already noticed. This change has been long overdue and brings a fresh exciting feel to my blog, Facebook page and Twitter profiles. A HUGE thank you to my good friend Andy for coming up with this design. (I know we both lost sleep over it last night – literally!)
Secondly, I have received my new front cover back from the designers which is looking great! A huge thank you to The Cover Collection for a great design. I will be able to share it with you all shortly.
Thirdly, (If that’s even a word – I should know really) I am approaching 1000 followers on my Facebook page, 200 on my blog and my introduction to the world of Twitter is already heading in the right direction. A BIG thank you to every one of you for your support. It means a great deal.
Lastly, you will notice the introduction of my main character, DCI Morgan. I am hoping to hit new heights with #DCIMorgan so you may notice this on posts going forward. I would appreciate it more than anything in the world if you could share posts wherever you can or add the #DCIMorgan yourselves wherever you can.
This last year has been amazing and I have so many people to thank for that. Exciting times are ahead and this train is far from slowing down!
Happy Saturday! Firstly a huge thank you to everyone who took part in my ‘name an English pub’ competition. The response has been fantastic and I have received a number of great entries.
After trawling through them all very carefully, I have chosen my winner. A big thank you to Sheryl for her suggestion of ‘The Rusty Maiden’. A great name that perfectly suits my new story. As promised, a mention in my acknowledgements in my finished, published novel is yours.
A big thank you to you all for taking part and as always thank you for your support. It means so, so much.
Don’t forget guys.. you have until 7pm on Saturday to get your unique English pub names to me.. The winning entry will receive a mention in the credits of my next book! Get your thinking caps on! Message my author page with your ideas… As always, thank you for your support!
