So here I am! Almost a year on since the release of ‘A Hole in Serenity’ refreshed after a short break from writing and raring to go again! I hope you all had a great Christmas and new year.
As always, a huge thank you to you all for sticking with me and a huge thank you to those who have recently started following. It’s time to shove some more coal on the fire to get this train moving again!
I have started gathering ideas for my next book which is going to be the first in a series of short crime/thriller books. However, although it’s great coming up with my own ideas etc, this time I want to involve you, my faithful followers.
I am looking for the name of an English pub to feature in my next book. I need fresh and unique ideas. If as many of you as possible can reply with one entry that would be fantastic! No matter how wacky you think they are, send them to me!
I will be choosing the winning name on the 4th March and the winner will receive a mention in the credits of my finished book.
Get your thinking caps on my faithful! I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Mark
Dear Mark, Although I did very little, I followed you. I’m amazed by your tenacity and your confident smile in the future. I was a great fan of Agatha Christie and if such suggestions please you, I’ll stay on the alert in case they suddenly arise from my mind. Thank you for keeping writing to me and please give my warmest kisses to my darling daughter (lol !) My warm regards go to you of course, Sincerely, Christine Fontainas

These are actually some from my own list (Excluding the one I went with for my book) Sometimes I find a clever name that fits the story or lends to an inside joke for the character or story makes for a good tavern name.
The beheaded inn
The Crooked Crown
The Loose Noose
The Stumble Inn
THe Tricky Turkey
The Spectacles, Testicles Wallet & Watch
The Crotchety Old Man
The Reverse Inn
The Drive Inn Tavern
The Rusty Maiden
The Faux Fur
The Faux Fox Fur
The Hook Line and Sinker
The Two Brass Tacks

Hello! I am a new follower but I’d like to give a couple ideas 🙂
The Green Parrot
The Conchy Joe
Tingum Tavern
All of these have to do with the Bahamas which is where I grew up. It would provide great pub names for a crime story especially if its in a mysterious offshore setting. I especially like Tingum Tavern because Tingum is what Bahamians call something or someone when they can’t remember the name of it haha!

The muddy duck……my favorite pub. Or you could have The ruddy duck!
Other pubs in the Shire that is Wiltshire are: The Beaufort, The Prince William, The Meuthen Arms, The Sign of the Angel (love this name), The Rising Sun, The Rise and Crown….. I know sooo many! Whoops!

I don’t know why but I love the idea of a pub named ‘The fettered hen’. Hope you find your pub name.

Here are my suggestions, “The Runny Nose,” and “The Empty Box” (logo of The Empty Box would be an old English phone box).
